Dr. Basso was born and raised in Florida, with only a brief time spent outside the state. From a young age, she knew she wanted to become a veterinarian after rescuing a dove that had flown into a glass window. She earned her degree in veterinary medicine from the University of Florida (Go Gators!!) in 1998, following her studies at the University of Central Florida (Go Knights!). Afterward, she returned to Central Florida, where she has practiced ever since. Dr. Basso spent eight years in a feline-only practice before transitioning to a practice that treats both felines and canines, which she truly enjoys.
Her primary veterinary interests lie in feline and canine internal medicine. Outside of work, Dr. Basso enjoys spending time with friends and family, and she has a variety of hobbies, including visiting theme parks, zoos, and casinos, as well as pursuing genealogy, scrapbooking, art, and gardening. She shares her home with two male tabby cats, Chewy and Joey.
